The house
What we make, and whyWe are a perfume house. We make one extrait at a time, and each one belongs to a life.
The work begins in research, not in a mood board. We read a life — famous or forgotten — until we can locate the hour it turned, and we compose from what that hour actually held: the place, the season, the material left behind. Two credible sources before a line is written; where the sources stop, we say so rather than invent past it.
What we want is simple and difficult: that a life which has ended can be present in a room again, for the length of a wearing. So we bottle no fantasies and rank no one — no royal tier, no tier kept for the few. Small batches, natural materials that vary with their season, a printed bibliography in every carton, and the full research travelling with the glass.
